About the course
The Department of Psychology provides a graduation programme in Psychology. B.Sc. Psychology programme was approved by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, during the year 2018. B.Sc. Psychology course was started in 2019 in order to cater to the needs of students who seek Psychology and counselling degree for their professional careers due to the increasing demand for professionals in Psychology.

The department offers UG programme in Psychology with Human Physiology and Psychological Statistics as complementary courses.

The department has three duly qualified and professionally competent faculty members. Along with teaching, they also offer counselling sessions for the students both inside and outside the college campus. The laboratory is equipped with assessment batteries and instruments.

Eligibility conditions
Admission to B.Sc. Psychology programme is based on the marks obtained in 12th grade.

Selection procedure
Selection in general quota is through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) of Mahatma Gandhi University.

Number of seats

Total intake of students for the first year is 40.

The course offers a variety of career options. These include counselling, teaching, marketing, research, human resources and consulting.

M.Sc Psychology

M.Sc Psychology is a 2-year postgraduate course that focuses on the practical application of research methods related to human behavior. It provides learning about different perspectives of human psychology through theoretical and research based activities. The course has considerable field knowledge and is based on actual cases.

The basic eligibility for pursuing admission to MSc Psychology program, candidates must hold a bachelor degree in any Psychology courses from a recognized university with an aggregate of at least 50% marks.
